UTILITY SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Annual Salary: $146,332.16 - $176,917.00

Central San, a progressive public utility, is seeking a qualified individual to fill Utility Systems Engineer positions. One position will be assigned to the Capital Projects Division (Design/Construction) and will be part of a team that is responsible for all design and construction of public works projects, relating to Central San's wastewater treatment and recycled water plant. The other position will be assigned to the Control Systems group in Plant Operations and will work as part of a team that is responsible for two control systems, one at the District's wastewater treatment plant in Martinez and the second at the District's wastewater pumping stations which are located throughout central Contra Costa County.

Education and Experience:

Five years of professional engineering experience performing duties in either process controls or electrical or mechanical engineering OR ten years of major project related journey level experience with emphasis in construction and installation of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and/or controls equipment and systems.

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in electrical or mechanical engineering or a closely related field.

Substitution for Education: Four additional years of additional qualifying experience as noted above may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.

Licenses and Certificates:

Possession of a valid California Driver's License. A valid out-of-state driver's license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver's License within 90 days of appointment.

A valid Certificate of Registration as a professional engineer issued by the State of California is desirable. Electrical preferred.
