East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD) Pipeline Infrastructure Division, part of the Engineering and Construction Department, is seeking a highly qualified individual with exceptional technical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the current opening supervises the Pipeline Design Support Section. Responsibilities include the following: providing design support to the Pipeline Infrastructure Renewal Program, Pipeline System Extensions Program, Pipeline Relocations Program, Pipeline System Improvements Program, and Transmission Pipelines and Tunnels Program; overseeing and managing the Corrosion Control Program including design, installation, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems for EBMUD's aqueducts, transmission and distribution pipelines, water treatment plants, pumping plants, and reservoirs; implementing and maintaining CADD and drawing standard guidelines to manage work quality and consistency of all drawings produced by both in-house projects and outside consultant work; implementing and maintaining engineering standard practices, design standards, and specifications; and overseeing on-call contracts including potholing and utility locating services. The position also provides technical support for EBMUD committees such as the Pipe Committee and Coating Committee and works closely with outside agencies and Operations and Maintenance staff.
Knowledge of and experience with Microstation and AutoCAD Civil 3D software are highly desirable.

Flexible/hybrid work from home schedule may be available for some positions in this job classification.

The salary range is $14,576 per month increasing to $15,305, $16,070, and $16,873 after 6, 18, and 30 months, respectively.

Requirements:
Any combination of education and experience that has led to the acquisition of the knowledge and abilities indicated above. Typical means of acquiring the essential knowledge and abilities is a combination of training and experience equivalent to:

1. A bachelor's degree in a civil or environmental engineering curriculum which is accredited by ABET or a California Engineer-In-Training Certificate, and
2. A minimum of two years of engineering experience comparable to or higher than EBMUD's Associate Engineer class; and
3. Registration as a Civil Professional Engineer in the state of California.

An advanced degree in an accredited related engineering curriculum may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Other requirements: Must possess the physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the position. Must be willing to work beyond normal work hours when needed. Must possess a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
