CCWD is seeking a skilled, motivated, and team-oriented Public Information Specialist in the Public Affairs Department. This position will be located at our District Center Office in Concord, CA. Under general direction, this position is responsible for planning and implementing community outreach and engagement programs, such as construction project outreach, tours, and special events. This position is also responsible for preparing informational materials as well as planning, organizing, and coordinating CCWD communications. This position collaborates closely with the entire Public Affairs Team to support and implement all outreach and education programs and activities at the District.

What you will typically be responsible for:



  • Coordinating customer outreach programs, including communications for construction and maintenance projects, water quality issues, and water supply issues.

  • Acting as a community liaison providing timely communications related to CCWD projects and providing responses to customer inquiries and concerns.

  • Representing CCWD at community or industry meetings, speaking opportunities, employee functions, tours, and special events.

  • Encouraging and maintaining positive community engagement related to CCWD projects and priorities.

  • Developing or contributing to written publications, educational materials, marketing materials, online content, and other Department projects.

  • Actively engaging in emergency response and efforts to plan for emergencies.
