Under direction, East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) Plant Structures Maintenance Supervisors supervise and coordinate the work of technicians, gardeners and janitors engaged in the maintenance and repair of the administrative, laboratory and other buildings, grounds and structures of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and reclamation facilities, interceptor pump stations and remote wet weather treatment plants including maintenance of HVAC, warehousing, painting, landscaping, plumbing, and security systems; and directing guard service personnel.

Responsibilities include:
Supervising the work of technicians, crafts and trades workers engaged in the maintenance and repair of building utilities throughout the Wastewater Department, recommending or taking action regarding discipline, motivation, performance, evaluation, and hiring and termination of employees.
Supervising or performing administrative duties such as budget preparation, contract work recommendation and coordination, maintenance records, equipment and parts inventory control, reports and memo preparation, and administrative records maintenance.
Selecting new employees and assigning, directing, and evaluating the work of subordinate employees in the cleaning, maintenance and grounds keeping throughout the Wastewater Department.
Planning and directing a training program for assigned employees.
Planning, organizing, and directing a preventive maintenance program for building utility systems.
Obtaining specialized expert maintenance or repair services, where required, and evaluating performance of those services.
Supervising guards provided by contract guard service at various Wastewater Department locations.
Preparing and updating painting plans for EBMUD structures and directing workers engaged in painting and making structural repairs to masonry, woodwork or furnishings of buildings and similar structures.

The salary range is $11,968* per month increasing to $12,566, $13,194, and $13,854 after 6, 18, and 30 months, respectively.

*Please note: the salary ranges listed previously may change, due to an anticipated CPI-based salary increase of 3.4% effective in late April 2024. Salary increase is subject to approval by the EBMUD Board of Directors.

Requirements:
1. Completion of the twelfth grade, or its equivalent.
2. Two years of experience directing the work of several journey level subordinates and providing detailed knowledge of the work involved in structural maintenance, and repair, building equipment maintenance, and of general grounds maintenance.
3. Possession of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Other requirements:
Must possess the physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the job. May be required to wear respiratory protection equipment. Must be willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and work overtime as needed.
