This recruitment is to fill one existing regular-status, full time (with benefits) vacancy. The recruitment will also establish an eligibility list for a future, temporary (without benefits except paid sick leave) or regular-status, full time (with benefits) position. The list will be in effect for an initial six months and could be extended for an additional six months. Candidates interested in employment with the Contra Costa Water District in the Maintenance Mechanic classification within the next 12 months should complete the required application and supplemental questionnaire.

CCWD is seeking skilled, motivated, and team-oriented Maintenance Mechanic for our Operations and Maintenance Department. This position will be located at our Concord offices. We offer competitive salaries, sick leave, plus a great working environment!

What you will typically be responsible for:
Safely and effectively using and operating a vehicle, equipment and tools required for the position.
Understanding, interpreting, and applying all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards relevant to work performed.
Repairing and maintaining a variety of mechanical equipment and facilities in treated and raw water treatment and distribution facilities.

Employees may be required to work outside their Normal Workweek/Workday which may consist of evenings, weekends, and holidays.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees are required to meet California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (CalOSHA) Respiratory Protection Program guidelines including passing a fit test and annual medical examinations and complying with on-demand shave policy.
