Start your career as a Junior Engineer (Electrical/Control Systems) with an industry-leading water and wastewater utility. East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) offers excellent preparation for professional registration and stable career opportunities, along with state-of-the-art electrical engineering assignments for water and wastewater facilities, as well as electrical distribution systems. Junior Engineers also provide assistance and technical support to various personnel within EBMUD, including operations, maintenance, and instrumentation staff.

Junior Engineer (Electrical/Control Systems) is the entry level within EBMUD's professional electrical/control systems engineering career ladder. All assignments are under the direct supervision of registered engineers and provide qualifying experience for professional registration.

With successful performance, incumbents normally advance to Assistant Engineer (Electrical/Control Systems). With further experience and registration as a California (CA) Professional Engineer, you will qualify to compete for promotion to Associate Electrical/Control Systems Engineer.

The ideal candidate will be prepared to:
Plan and manage assignments; identify objectives, scope, feasibility, milestones and completion schedules; prepare supporting documentation, monitor and coordinate project activities to meet time and cost parameters.
Use computer software tools to model engineering problems, program and troubleshoot automation systems, setup wired/wireless networks, prepare spreadsheet based economic analyses, and for a variety of other engineering and office applications.
Integrate, summarize and synthesize data from a variety of sources (e.g. calculations, reports, and feasibility studies) to research, analyze and formulate technical planning recommendations.
Apply technical and interpersonal skills to achieve workable solutions to electrical engineering, economic, and people-related problems.
Provide electrical engineering support and work cooperatively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and timelines.
Demonstrate excellent people skills in meetings and in making technical presentations to groups and individuals including EBMUD staff, customers, contractors, and the public.
Communicate effectively in writing, prepare concise and accurate engineering reports, correspondence and memos for a variety of audiences including staff, government and regulatory agencies, contractors, and the public.

The salary range is $8,875 per month increasing to $9,319, $9,785, $10,274 and $10,788 after 6, 18, 30, and 42 months, respectively.

Requirements:
1. A bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited electrical or control systems engineering curriculum OR a CA EIT (Engineer-in-Training) Certificate.
2. No experience is required.
3. Must possess a valid CA driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
