Come get your "feet wet" at Zone 7 Water Agency! Gain valuable work experience with an exciting paid Intern opportunity supporting our Groundwater Section!

SALARY: $25.52- $30.99/Hourly (effective 06/23/2024: $26.29-$31.92/ Hourly)

THE AGENCY: Zone 7 supplies treated drinking water to retailers serving over a quarter million people in the Tri-Valley area including the cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin and, through special agreement with the Dublin San Ramon Services District, to the Dougherty Valley area. Additionally, we supply untreated water directly to agricultural businesses for irrigation of 3,500 acres, primarily South Livermore Valley vineyards. We also maintain 37 miles of local flood-protection channels; about a third of all the Valley's channels and creeks.

Description: This full-time paid summer intern assignment, approximately mid-June to mid-to-late August, will support the agency's Groundwater section with projects and tasks such as:

• Assist with data migration of well records, water levels and water quality data


• Learn to interpret various groundwater data and understand how it is used for agency-wide decisions


• Assist with creating customizable reports including maps, charts, and dashboards from our data base and applications such as ArcGIS Pro, ARCGIS Online and PowerBI


• Engage with technical experts to understand their duties at Zone 7 and how GIS and data management tools supports their work in water resources management

Clear training and objectives will be provided to develop skills for potential career opportunities in the water utility industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current enrollment or recent graduation (within last year) from a college or university, and successful completion of the equivalent of 30 semester (45 quarter) units of classwork


• Possession of a valid California Driver's License


• Ability to work in the field and office as needed
