Dublin San Ramon Services District, a special district in the San Francisco Bay Area that provides water, wastewater and recycled water services, is recruiting to fill one regular, full-time Electrician I-II position to support the Instrumentation, Controls & Electrician Division / Operations Department. The full salary range is $8,624.00 - $11,533.00 monthly with a generous benefit and paid time off package.

Position and Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a skilled electrician with a solid background in the full range of electrical duties related to water, recycled water and wastewater equipment. The candidate will have knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace and NFPA 70B Electrical Equipment Maintenance. The candidate will have experience working in the construction and maintenance of electrical systems as well as experience in troubleshooting electrical circuits, variable frequency drives and motor controls. Attention to detail and the ability to QA their own work are important skills. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator; skilled in writing work summaries utilizing a computer; have the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and initiative.

Under direct or general supervision, performs a variety of routine to complex duties in support of the Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical Division related to skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, design, and repair of a variety of electrical, electronic, and telemetry equipment and systems as found in the water, recycled water, and wastewater treatment plants, District buildings, and related facilities; maintains Livermore-Amador Valley Water Management Agency (LAVWMA) and Recycled Water Authority (DERWA) electrical and instrumentation equipment; and performs related duties, as assigned.

Training and Experience

Electrician I

  • Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade and an approved electrical apprenticeship program.
  • One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in maintaining, installing, and repairing a variety of electrical, electronic and control systems.

Electrician II

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade and completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Two (2) years of responsible experience in maintaining, installing and repairing a variety of electrical, electronic and control systems similar to an Electrician I.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is required.

Electrician I

Possession and maintenance of either a General Electrician Certification from the State of California or a California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Electrical/Instrumentation Grade I certification is required within one (1) year of appointment.

Electrician II

Possession and maintenance of either a General Electrician Certification from the State of California or a CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation Grade I certification is required within one (1) year of appointment. If qualifying with the CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation certification, a Grade II certification is required within (2) years of appointment.
