East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) seeks a qualified, motivated, and innovative individual for an Associate Control Systems or Electrical Engineer supporting the Wastewater Department's Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in the Control Systems Management Section (CSMS). You will be joining a team of passionate, experienced engineers who support each other and are committed to our mission of protecting the bay and serving the public by providing essential services that they can count on in all situations.

Our ICS primarily consists of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and centralized security systems and their wired and wireless network communication equipment. The work will be primarily at the main wastewater treatment plant, three wet weather treatment plants, three recycled water treatment plants, and 15 pumping stations. The Wastewater Department owns and operates the nation's first municipal wastewater plant that is a net-energy producer, with a 10.5-megawatt, biogas-fueled, power generation station. The wastewater treatment plant treats on average over 60 million gallons per day, helping to protect the San Francisco Bay. The Wastewater Department also produces approximately 8 million gallons per day of recycled water for reuse, with treatment facilities including reverse osmosis membrane technology.

Working under general supervision, the Associate Control Systems or Electrical Engineer performs difficult and complex engineering work related to the planning, design, construction, start-up, troubleshooting, and operation of a large municipal water and wastewater treatment and distribution utility system. This engineer will be responsible for handling multiple assignments while managing multiple projects with varying timelines. The engineer may also direct the work of a small group of subordinate engineers and technicians and will interact with engineers from other disciplines as well as with operations, maintenance, and construction staff.

The salary range for an Associate Control Systems Engineer is $11,362 per month increasing to $11,930, $12,527, $13,152, and $13,822 after 6, 18, 30, and 42 months, respectively.

*Please note the salary range listed previously may change due to an anticipated salary increase effective April 2023 pending board approval.
