Temporary Laboratory Technician
The Dublin San Ramon Services District is seeking a full-time, temporary Laboratory Technician to assist the Laboratory and Technical Services Division.
Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
This assignment is anticipated to last up to six (6) months or 1000 hours, whichever occurs first, but may end at any time at the discretion of the District.
Essential Functions:
Performs a variety of entry-level duties in support of the Laboratory and Technical Services division including:
- Prepares standard chemical solutions and reagents for Laboratory and Operations.
- Assembles and enters test data into laboratory database; prepares draft charts and graphs.
- Cleans and maintains laboratory and field equipment.
- Maintains quality control and quality assurance and follows safe work procedures within standard operating procedures and protocols.
- Maintains accurate records of work performed and analysis results.
Training and Experience:
Minimum Requirements
Equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree in chemistry, biology, natural sciences, or a related field;
Excel experience including importing data, creating macros and using pivot tables;
Clerical experience including data entry, filing and organizing documents.
Experience in an environmental laboratory, wastewater treatment plant laboratory, industrial waste inspection or related experience is desirable.
