THE POSITION
The City of Livermore is currently accepting applications to fill three (3) Water Resources Instrument Control Technician vacancies in the Public Works Department.
The Water Resources Instrument Control Technician installs, operates, maintains, calibrates, and repairs computer hardware, process instrumentation, and telemetry equipment; de-bugs, modifies, and customizes software; modifies, maintains, and repairs all components of a programmable logic controller (PLC) based supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems/distributed control systems; and performs other duties as assigned. The work is done at the Water Reclamation Plant, located at 101 West Jack London Boulevard in Livermore.

TESTING & SELECTION PROCESS
Applications and supplemental questionnaires will be reviewed for completeness and content to determine the best qualified candidates. The best qualified candidates may be invited to participate in a qualifying appraisal board (QAB) interview. Please note: meeting the minimum requirements for this position does not guarantee participation in the QAB. The results of the Qualifying Appraisal Board will be used to establish the Eligible List; the Eligible List will be effective for one year and may be extended.



GENERAL INFORMATION
Work periods and workdays are subject to change dependent upon the operational requirements of the City. Appointment to City employment is contingent upon passing a fingerprint criminal background check, DMV check, and pre-employment physical examination. At time of hire, proof of United States citizenship or authorization to work in the United States must be presented. The probationary period for this position is at least 12 months.
