Job Description:
The Senior Network Administrator designs, supports, maintains, and troubleshoots computer networking and communication systems. Maintains network and complex systems, provides technical support for IT infrastructure, manages and secures wired and wireless network and provides on-call support. This position is located in Gig Harbor, Washington.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitors the network analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems; reports any unusual activity or system anomalies
Manages and supports the company's network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points.
Installs, supports, and maintains a broad range of network and security applications
Provides administration and supports for all users of the network and ensures that all systems are configured according to best practices.
Maintains knowledge of current technology trends in information security and networking and implements new technologies as appropriate.
Assists the Disaster Recovery Specialist with the designs and implementation of all disaster recovery tasks
Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements by ensuring that controls are adhered to
Ensures proper documentation of all network and server infrastructure and configuration
Conducts research on network products, services, protocols, and standards; may recommend system enhancements to keep pace with technology
Troubleshoots network and remote connectivity hardware/software issues
Performs project management for projects of medium complexity and size
Participates in and support the Company's Continuous Improvement programs and projects
Performs other similar duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience
Seven years of experience in all aspects of network management and administration
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP) desired
Microsoft Certified Network Engineer (MCSE) desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Valid California Driver License
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience administrating corporate networks and systems
Experience working within secure environments; demonstrative ability to secure servers and communications between nodes
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Strong working knowledge of VMWare administration (VSphere)
Strong working knowledge of networking engineering principals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP)
Strong working knowledge of Linux/Windows OS server platforms (W2012/2008, Red Hat Linux)
Strong working knowledge of network services (SMTP, DHCP, DNS, AD, SAN)
Strong working knowledge of routers and switches
Good working knowledge of firewalls
Salary Range: $74,400 - $134,000
