The District is seeking six (6) temporary, part-time temporary laborers to perform a variety of duties related to seasonal Facultative Sludge Lagoon harvesting project.

Hours will be Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. (Occasional weekend work may be required). Must be available to work at least two consecutive, 10-hour days per week. Ability to work more than two days per week is highly desirable.

Assignment is scheduled to begin on April 11, 2022, and is expected to end no later than October 24, 2022, however assignments may end at any time at the discretion of the District.

This temporary position is open until filled; however, a first review of applications will occur on Monday, March 14, 2022.


Candidates will receive training and thereafter be expected to operate equipment such as a solids dredge, injection tractor, 500 GPM diesel powered centrifugal pump.

Candidates must have mechanical aptitude; be able to work on and around water; be able to maneuver large (4" diameter) hoses working in a field using tractors and manual power and be able to work as part of a team.

Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather including high heat days.

Training and Experience

Minimum Requirements
  • Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
  • Must be able and willing to work in all types of weather, including high heat days and cold and rain.
  • Must not be an active CalPERS member (CalPERS retirees are encouraged to apply).

This assignment will be required to work on-site at the District's Wastewater Treatment Plant and other District facilities.
