Salary and Benefits
YEARLY SALARY: $159,952.00-$194,438.40
The agency
The Agency's administrative offices are located in Livermore, CA, the easternmost city of Alameda County, which is bordered by Contra Costa County to the north and San Joaquin County to the east. Zone 7 provides treated drinking water to the City of Pleasanton; the City of Livermore; California Water Service Company - Livermore; and Dublin San Ramon Services District.

We employ approximately 115 full-time employees in a diverse range of fields, responsible for the massive job of keeping clean, safe water delivered to the Tri-Valley.

The position
The incumbent in this position will oversee and manage the purchasing section of the Agency; develop and administer agency-wide policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines related to purchasing and contracts; provide leadership in planning, developing, and evaluating policies, purchasing systems, initiatives, and objectives for the purchasing section.
This is a single class position responsible for providing managerial and administrative oversight of the activities and staff in the areas of contracts, procurement, and materials, equipment and supplies, inventory maintenance, and control in the Agency.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, economics, purchasing, supply chain management, or in a related field.
AND
Experience:
The equivalent of six (6) years of recent full-time procurement and materials/supply control experience, which included at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Substitution:
Additional work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Certification:
Possession of a CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPPO (Certified Public Purchasing Officer) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) is desirable.
